I read my first Toni Morrison book only a couple of years ago (Beloved), and it was an example of one of my favourite experiences in Pop culture: when you finally get around to something that's been hyped up to the nines and it still surpasses your lofty expectations. I really need to get onto her other works.

and you're inspiring me to revisit song of solomon which i read in high school and remember asking my english teacher "what did this scene mean?" and her basically saying "idk think about it some more" - which was a great response tbh
