I've been saying this isn't a terrible show (nor a great one), but it's definitely a terrible adaption.

It's Murphy's answer to Riverdale with an 80s setting - and it baffles me that Ellis himself is co-signing it.

Ellis bounced after the first two episodes.

That makes a lot more sense.

I also have a soft spot for the informers and this occurred to me too. If only. Overall I just wish he hasn’t touched any of the BEE material and done what he wanted anyway

Like, how hard would it be for Murphy of all people to get an original 80s show green lit?

I haven’t read The Shards but watching this, I’m noticing it’s the opposite of All’s Fair which I liked more as it went along. Obviously nether are great so I probably need to give up on Murphy but it’s like I’m stuck 🤪

He wrote Less Than Zero in college, all thinly veiled descriptors of Bennington (just like Donna Tartt and the Secret History!)

He started writing it sophomore year of high school but yes!

You’re right, I’m thinking of the rules of attraction - a decent book but deplorable movie

Ah! I liked the movie lol. Bret’s writing is deplorable! Non-derogatory!

As a non reader of this book, I have to say I find the narrative what once felt structured and layered to now feel very free flowing and jumbled. I have a feeling this series isn't going to be solving the mystery any time soon but, I worry I won't care when the time does to solve it. And I'm guessing this gonna stretch out a few years so we won't get a resolution anytime soon.

I don't think it's going to get a second season.
